Clean-up From Big Winter Storm Continues in Cortland County
Travel conditions have improved substantially following Wednesday’s big storm, most travel advisory’s have been lifted but drivers still need to exercise caution as they make their rounds.

As road crews continue to dig out from Wednesday’s big storm motorist need to use extra caution. Many roads still have slick spots and may be snow covered.
Also snow banks now present a visual obstruction especially when pulling out of driveways and parking areas. Parents and caregivers are urged to keep children from playing on snow banks near traffic and parking areas.
Property owners are reminded that they are obligated to keep sidewalks clear, and fire hydrants should be cleaned out as well, both from the street side and facing nearby homes.
In the event of a fire, time spent by firefighters removing the piled up snow around a fire hydrant may cause a delay in firefighting operations.
