The snowstorm that belted the Syracuse area overnight shows signs of letting up, perhaps spelling an early end to the winter storm warnings that blanket the region.
Forecasters predicted Syracuse would get 10 to 14 inches. The Hancock International Airport station received 7.7 inches by 4 a.m., the most recent observation there, with high totals reported in the suburbs.
In our area unofficial totals range from nearly 10 inches in Tully to 6 or 7 inches in the Marathon / Freetown area.
