Armored Truck Carrying $10 Million in Silver Crashes in Broome County

State Police responded to a really expensive crash on Interstate 81 just south of Cortland County on Monday, a truck carrying millions of dollars worth of silver bars went off the road.
Troopers say the armored truck was head from New York City to Rochester, the truck which was carrying three guards in addition to $10 million in silver bars slid down an embankment just north of the Castle Creek exit around 7:30 Monday morning. The wreck sent silver bars all over the shoulder of the highway.
One of the guards was taken to the hospital with a possible broken leg. Police shut down one lane of traffic on the interstate while the crash was cleaned up.
