Groton Man Charged With D-W-I After Jeep Catches Fire
A Groton man is facing a D-W-I charge after police found his jeep in flames.

Last Saturday night, Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 100 block of Peruville Road in the Town of Lansing for a report of a one car accident.  Upon arrival deputies found a Jeep fully engulfed in flames.

Deputies say the driver 26 year old David Canseco of Peruville Road was out of the vehicle and was uninjured. A further investigation determined that Canseco had crashed while under the influence of alcohol.

Canseco was charged with moving from lane unsafely, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and two counts of driving while intoxicated.  Canseco was released and is due back in court next month.
