100 Jobs Being Lost After Alliance Bank, NBT Bank Merge Next Year
Saturday, December 8, 2012
Nearly 100 of Alliance Bank's 358 employees will have their jobs eliminated when the bank completes its merger with NBT Bancorp in March.
Forty-two positions are being eliminated at Alliance's headquarters in Syracuse. Fifty-six jobs at its operations center in Oneida will be gone when the deal closes.
NBT, the Norwich-based bank with $6 billion in assets, and Alliance, with $1.4 billion in assets, announced the merger Oct. 8.
Bank spokesman Joe Russo said all the affected employees were informed that their jobs were being eliminated.
