Holiday Shoppers Take Advantage of Thanksgiving Store Hours
Thanksgiving meals were barely digested; the leftovers still warm when the holiday shopping season kicked off yesterday. While today is black Friday traditionally one of the busiest shopping days of the year, several major retailers have pushed back the start to holiday shopping season to Thanksgiving day.
A recent Siena Research Institute Poll shows New Yorkers plan on spending a bit more on gifts this year, this is good news for retailers.
Consumer advocates say before you rush out to the store and get lost in the wave of bargains make a list of all the gifts you intend to buy, and remember some of the deepest discounts are on-line.
