Former Cortlandville Business Owner Charged With Sales Tax Fraud
A Broome County based business owner who used to operate a retail location in Cortlandville is facing charges including sales tax fraud.

New York State Department of Taxation announced the arrest of 46-year-old Chris DeProspo yesterday. DeProspo owns Amish Woodworks based in Vestal 
An investigation concluded that DeProspo collected but failed to remit to New York State more than $90,000 in sales taxes from September 2006 through August 2009.
He also filed returns that under reported the amount of sales tax he collected.
DeProspo faces 10 felony charges, including grand larceny, criminal tax fraud and eight counts of offering a false instrument for filing.
If convicted, DeProspo faces a minimum of five to ten years in prison.
DeProspo previously operated one of his Amish Woodworks locations on Route 13 in the Town of Cortlandville.
