Governor Andrew M. Cuomo yesterday directed the New York National Guard to deploy an additional 600 Citizen Soldiers to assist in the restoration of the electrical grid in Westchester and Rockland counties.

And Governor Cuomo on Thursday night signed an Executive Order to allow distributors and transporters to bring gasoline, diesel, and kerosene into the State of New York without having to meet the usual registration requirements, which can help alleviate the current gas shortages in are as affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Currently, transporters and distributors must be registered with the State Department of Taxation and Finance. This Executive Order would temporarily suspend those registration requirements.
