Gang Assault Suspect Pleads Not Guilty in Cortland County Court
One of the suspects accused of severely injuring a Cortland man during a gang assault on Main Street in August appeared in County Court Tuesday.
23 year old Mason Reeves of 1 Ely Drive, Binghamton appeared with his attorney yesterday, he pled not guilty to charges of felony assault, gang assault, and conspiracy.
Reeves is one of four men accused of beating 25 year old Robert Miller of Cortland in front of 64 Main Street.
Police say Reeves struck Miller in the head multiple times causing brain swelling which left Miller unconscious and stopped his heart from beating.
Miller was found by City Police and rushed to the hospital.
Police have also charged 22-year-old Marcus Delige of 17 Randall Street with felony counts of assault, gang assault, and conspiracy along with 24-year-old Kaywon Pittman of 10 Scammel Street, he too was charged with felony counts of assault, gang assault, and conspiracy. Pittman was also charged with possessing a small amount of cocaine.
All three men are being held in the Cortland County Jail. Police are still looking for a fourth suspect 25-year-old Antoine Brown.
County D-A Mark Suben has said he will only offer the men a reduction in the charges if the they pled guilty to the top felony charge. Reeves is due back in court in December.
