Two Suit Kote Employees Save Elderly Man Who Slipped Into Water at Gravel Bed
Two Suit Kote employees are credited with saving an elderly man who may have slipped or jumped into the water at a gravel bed just outside the village.

Just before 11:30 Friday morning Homer Firefighters, TLC Ambulance and the New York State Police responded to the gravel bed on Route 11 near the Homer Iron Works for a report of an elderly man that had been pulled for the water and was barely breathing and partially conscious.

Upon arrival rescuers had to remove a gate on the fenced in property to access the man.

Two Suit Kote workers who were loading sand at the site saw the man in the water and pulled him to safety. The two unidentified men said he was barely conscious, they estimated he had been in the water for nearly an hour.

They had not identified the man by news time and his condition is unknown.
