Meth Lab Found in Freetown
A Cortland County couple is facing charges after police found a working meth lab in their home.

Cortland County Sheriffs executed a search warrant at a home located at 3143 McGraw Marathon Road in the town of Freetown. During the search police say they found the meth lab.
The home owners 47 year old Harold (John) Young, 47, and 41 year old Estelle Young, were both charged them with two felony counts of Manufacturing of Methamphetamine, they were also charged with felony counts of possessing a controlled substance, possessing the precursors to methamphetamine, and a misdemeanor charge of conspiracy.
Both were arraigned in the Town of Cortlandville Court and sent to the Cortland County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
Sheriffs say an investigation is ongoing and further charges are expected. Due to the potentially hazardous conditions relating to meth labs, the New York State Police Special Operational Response Team, Town of Marathon Fire Department as well as the TLC Ambulance Service were called and assisted at the scene.  No one was injured during this event.
This is the 4th meth lab to be found in Cortland County over the last four months. Two labs were found in Cortland and another was located on Route 281 in Cortlandville.
