Ithaca Police Release More Info on Officer Shooting
Ithaca Police held a news conference yesterday releasing new information on the Officer who was shot and the suspect who shot him thursday night.

A report of a stolen vehicle led Ithaca Police officer Anthony Augustine to be shot as he persued Jamel Booker, 22 into the woods, that’s when booker turned around and fired one shot strkining the officer in the uper chest area. Officer Augustine then was transported to a trauma center by air.

Many officers from all over the area came to assist in the manhunt, including a Cortland county K9 Unit.A little before 5am it was announced a suspect was in custody.

Ithaca Police Chief Ed Valley credits the many tips that came in from the community for the fast capture.
