Ithaca Police Officer Shot, Suspect in Custody
 An Ithaca Police officer was shot overnight, a suspect is in custody.

Ithaca Police Officer Anthony Augustine was shot shortly after 11 o’clock last night near the West Village Apartment complex on Ithaca's West Hill.
The incident started when the officer tried to stop a stolen vehicle. The suspect fled the scene on foot and a short foot pursuit occurred, the officer was shot during the pursuit.
The Initial description of the suspect was he suspect is a black male with short hair, average height, a thin build and was wearing a shiny diamond earring.
Augustine is a five-year veteran of the Ithaca Police force, his injuries were believed to be non-fatal; he was airlifted from the scene to an area hospital, he was in surgery and his condition is unknown.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Department k-9 unit was called to assist in the search; other local police agencies were put on alert to watch for the suspect.
Just before five o’clock this morning it was announced that a suspect was in custody.
