As part of the planned industrial wind farm that is looking to locate up to 50 large turbines here in Cortland County, the County Legislature will hold public meeting allowing residents to comment on the project July 23rd at 6pm.
Cortland County will hold a public scoping meeting on the 23rd as part of state required environmental review process. The meeting will provide the community with an opportunity to offer comments and opinions on the wind farm being developed by TCI Renewables.
County Legislative Chair Mike Park and others requested the developer to hold the scoping session to allow for more comments on the planned wind project. The wind farm if approved, would span the Towns of Cortlandville, Homer, Solon, and Truxton. A few of the towers could also be located on the County owned landfill property.
T-C-I has prepared a draft environmental impact statement on its project, this meeting will give the public a chance to challenge the documents findings and request more information ahead of the final environmental impact statement being prepared.
Park says the meeting is not a question and answer session, this is to offer comments related to the EIS. The County will hold a public hearing on the EIS once it is finalized.
