Cortland Woman Accused of Stealing Tobacco From Smoke Shop
A Cortland woman is facing charges; she’s accused of stealing cigarettes and a tobacco-rolling machine from a store in Cortlandville.
45-year-old Anne Bell of Stewart Place, Cortland was arrested last week by Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies.
Police say back on June 24th, Bell took a bag of menthol tobacco and a cigarette rolling machine valued at nearly $40 dollars from the Smokers Choice Store located on Route 281 in the Tops Shopping Plaza.
Police say Bell had fled on foot before they could stop her.
On July 7th, Bell is accused of going back top the same store, this time employees called police and Bell was taken into custody and charged with petit larceny.
Bell was arraigned in Cortlandville Town Court and sent to the Cortland County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
