Homer Man Accused of Beating His Wife in Front of Small Children
A Town of Homer man is facing charges after he beat his wife with a broom in front of their young children.
Cortland County Police have charged 49-year-old Robert Stauber Sr. of 969 Route 90 Homer with several misdemeanors including two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief, harassment, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation.
County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Stauber’s home around 8:30 Saturday morning. Police say Stauber fought with his wife and hit her with a kitchen broom in front of their 1 year and 3 year old children. The woman sustained bruises and welts.

Stauber was arraigned in Homer Town Court and sent the county jail on $ 1500 cash or  $3000 bond. He’s due back in court tomorrow.
