Cayuga County Police Charge Cortland County Men With Sempronius Burglaries
Two Cortland County men have been arrested in connection with a series of break-ins in the Cayuga County Town of Sempronius.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 19-year-old Ryan Durkee of Elm Street in Cortland and 47-year-old Jeffrey Janack of James Street in Homer, the two men are each charged with three felony counts of burglary.

Police say last month Durkee and Janack broke into three properties in Sempronius and stole hand tools, generators, and electrical wiring.

Durkee was arraigned in Town of Brutus Court and taken to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. Janack was arraigned in Town of Owasco Court. He is being held in Cayuga County Jail without bail because of three prior felony convictions. Sheriff’s Deputies say additional arrests may be forthcoming.
