Man Charged With D-W-I Following Cuyler Crash
An Onondaga County man is facing D-W-I and other charges following a serious accident Saturday afternoon in Cuyler.
23-year-old Thomas Stanton of 3451 Lafayette Road, Jamesville has been charged with misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated, and aggravated unlicensed operation. Stanton was also charged with failure to use a designated lane and speed not reasonable and prudent, both vehicle and traffic violations.
Just after 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Truxton and Cuyler Firefighters responded to a one car crash on Eaton Hill Road in Cuyler.
Upon arrival rescuers found Stanton’s vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Rescuers were able to get the fire under control and get Eaton and an unidentified 23-year-old passenger out of the vehicle.
Stanton was air lifted to University Hospital in Syracuse with undisclosed non-life threatening injuries. The passenger was also transported to a Syracuse hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 
Stanton was ticketed at the hospital and is due in Cuyler Town Court on October 22nd.
