SUNY Cortland Baseball Team Doubleheader to Benefit The United Way of Cortland County
Coming up tomorrow the SUNY Cortland Baseball team has a special day planned to conclude the fall portion of the program.

The Red Dragons will play Division Three National Champion Marietta College in a doubleheader starting at 11am at Wallace Field on the SUNY Cortland Campus in a fundraiser for the United Way for Cortland County.

Last year, Cortland traveled to Marietta for a similar event, and several thousand dollars were raised for a local cancer research organization. This year proceeds raised will go to the United Way for Cortland County's annual campaign.

United Way Executive Director Cindy Eberhart was excited to learn that her agency had been chosen by the team.

Coach Joe Brown said it's important to everyone one involved that local people would benefit from this event.

Donation receptacles will be set up at the gates of field and commemorative t-shirts will also be a part of the fundraiser.

If you can't make it down there you are welcome to make a donation using the United Way's Donation Card, which can be found at

Oldies 101.5 will carry game 1 live starting shortly before 11am tomorrow. The second game will be on SUNY Cortland's Internet Radio website

The United Way for Cortland County assists in the funding of 14 human service agencies in the area.
