Congressman Stops in Homer to Recognize Veteran
U-S Congressman Richard Hanna was in the Village of Homer yesterday; he stopped at the Elizabeth Brewster House retirement home to recognize a veteran who served in two U-S wars.
Hanna who is seeking re-election to his second two year term representing the newly revised 22nd Congressional District, which includes Cortland County, toured the Village as well as stopping at the historic senior home on Main Street.
Hanna presented an American flag to veteran Richard Hammond, who served in both World War II and the Korean conflict.
Hanna is facing a challenge to his bid for re-election from Freeville Democrat Dan Lamb.
Hanna also held a roundtable at the Center for the Arts with local law enforcement officials, first responders, and represntitves of local public service agencies to hear from those groups about the issues they face and how he can help.
