Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted members of the Schuyler County Probation Department to arrest a man in the Town of Cortlandville Wednesday.
Joseph White, 26, of Burdett, was wanted for violating his probation.
Wednesday evening, Cortland deputies and Schuyler probation officers checked an area of Kellogg Road in the Town of Cortlandville.
Officers say that White ran when he saw them, discarding a backpack along the way, but they caught him following a short chase.
Cortland County Police say they found heroin and syringes in the backpack, charging White as follows:
- Possession of Hypodermic Instrument (13 counts)
- Obstruction of Governmental administration
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Criminal Using drug paraphernalia
White was arraigned in Town of Cortlandville court and sent to the Cortland County Jail awaiting bail.
